I have been asked to show how to make your own patterned paper using napkins. The idea is not mine, I saw it somewhere on the internet some time back.
I really love using this technique especially when I discover really nice patterned napkins. It saves you a lot of money on designer papers and it has some unique texture to it. Not to mention it's really easy and fun to make!
So here we go!
1. Things you'll need:
- pattern printed napkins
- cling film
- iron
- scissors
- base paper & scrap paper
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Cut the napkin to the desired size (I cut mine in 4 parts) and then peel off the white parts. Usually a napkin will have 3 layers. Make sure you peel them all off until you are left only with the printed layer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Arrange the layers in this order:
- scrap paper
- base paper
- cling film
- napkin (printed side up)
- scrap paper
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Set the iron on the highest power and iron over the scrap paper. You can keep ironiong and checking if the napkin got stuck to the base paper. Once it's all in place use the scissors and cut around the napkin.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Voila! Your own patterned paper that you can use in any craft project.
Hope this was useful :). If you try it make sure you leave a link back to your post. I would love to see the wonderful "patterned" papers you all come up with.
Hugs,
